The purpose of Lugoff Bassmasters is to create, among fellow anglers and the public, an awareness of our chapter and society’s contributions to American angling, conservation and outdoor recreation; to encourage and instruct the youth of our community in the art of bass fishing; to pledge ourselves to full adherence of all conservation codes; to promote and share camaraderie; to improve our skills as bass anglers through the exchange of bass catching techniques and ideas; to stimulate public awareness of bass fishing as a major participation sport, as well as a relaxing and healthy past time; to offer our organized, moral, and political support and encouragement to our state conservation departments; to demand adequate water standards and legal enforcement of existing regulatory standards; to detect and report any polluter, call public and political attention to his/her crime; to encourage both private and governmental studies into any reason why fishing on our lakes and streams is deteriorating, and to have them seek out solutions for restoring and maintaining top bass fishing conditions for ourselves, our children and future generations; to promote and encourage youth fishing (Kids don’t go fishing, they are taken fishing); to instill at any early age an interest and love for this great sport; and to participate in and promote fishing tournaments to help stimulate public interest in bass fishing.

20 July 2015

All,

We will be staring our new year in August with great anticipation of all the limits of fish to be caught regardless of the weather. However this will require everyone to start out  in the red by paying to have the privilege to fish with the Lugoff Bassmasters. The yearly dues are still $155.00 per member. We will need each member to start out with a minimum of $85.00 in August and $10.00 per month after that  until dues are satisfied. This format has everyone paid in full when the spring tournaments start. This allows the club to have money to make partial payment on the cabins and pay Federation dues. Let me know if you have any questions.

10 May 2015

Guys, there are a few things that we need to resolve.  Unless somebody objects, we’ll start having our meetings at my house (2166 Larry Jeffers Road, Elgin, SC 29045).  I’ll put together something for us to eat.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, 13 May 2015, 6:00 PM.  I’ll make some hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries.  In order to know how much to make, I need to know ASAP who plans on being here.  This should make it easier to conduct business and relax.  Also, need to know who plans on fishing the tournament on Clarks Hill, any guests, and boater or non-boater.  We will also need to pick the date for our June tournament on Lake Murray.  So, if you won’t make the meeting, please let me know any bad June dates for you.  I know everybody but me is really busy, but I need you to take some time to reply. Hope to see you on the 13th!

25 Feb 2015

CHANGE:  The weather forecast for this evening in Kershaw County calls for 2-4 inches of snow starting between 3:00 and 5:00 PM.  Darrell and I talked about it and out of an abundance of caution decided it would be best to CANCEL tonight’s meeting.  There wasn’t anything on the agenda that we can’t take care of at the tournament.  We will draw for blast-off and pairings at the ramp.  We can have our meeting after the tournament.  Be at John C. NLT than 6:30 AM, SUNDAY, 1 March 2015.  Please let me know that you received this info.  Also, need to know if you don’t plan to fish.

16 Feb 2015

The site is completely up to date.  Our next tournament is on 1 March at Santee.  Next meeting is 25 Feb 2015 at Lugoff House of Pizza.  Dinner at 6:00, meeting at 6:30.  Don't forget about the Bassmaster Classic at Lake Hartwell starting this Friday, 20 Feb out of Greenpond Facility at Hartwell.  The Bassmaster Classic Expo is at the TD Convention Center from Friday to Sunday and SC Federation members get it at 10:30 on Friday instead of at noon.  Weigh in will be at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena each day.  Don't forget that beginning next month will be the Savannah River chain of lakes.  You NEED to make your intentions known to someone in the club so that proper planning can be made for cabins.
